What is the function of the street light system?
In this project, the automatic street light system functions by turning on the lights when needed and turning them off when not needed. Currently, enormous electric energy is consumed by street lamps worldwide, which automatically turn on when it becomes dark and turn off when it becomes bright. How does a smart street light save energy?
A Raspberry Pi 2 was used as the micro controller. The smart street light saves energy by reducing the intensity of the lamp when there is less movement on the road. The lamp will be turned ON automatically when it gets dark and switched OFF when there is sufficient daylight. The intensity will be changed when the motion sensor is triggered.
